Welcome
Ahoy there!
My name is jelly and I’m an inquisitive, creative 21-year-old entrepreneur who loves people, the internet and making a difference.
At the age of 15 I published my first book, How Teenagers Think – an insider’s guide for parents about bringing up teenagers. I have since gone on to speak at conferences around Europe and consult to organisations about the youth of today, especially with regards to how we use technology & the internet. I have also enjoyed speaking at schools and youth enterprise summits, encouraging young people to achieve their own goals and successes.
Ever since I created hit website bluejackQ.com at the age of 13 (it clocked up 120,000 unique page views per day), I’ve always been passionate about technology, the internet and digital media, so I spend a lot of my time working in this field.
I currently live aboard my sailing yacht (follow her on Twitter: @YachtMilestone) in Brighton, where I spend three days a week working for the awesome digital agency iCrossing. In the other half of my time I implement digital & social media strategies for freelance clients, and also write for publications such as Practical Boat Owner.
I recently tied my passions for sailing & social media together with a three-page feature article in PBO called ‘Facebook Your Boat’ – using social media to get the most out of your time on the water.
Alternative education is also a big passion of mine: at the age of 14 I chose to leave school to become autonomously home educated. My biggest goal in life is to create a ‘non-school school’ environment where kids and young people can go to be inspired to lead their own education in an informal, project-led way; there will be no teachers, but facilitators will help the young people realise their potential.
And if that’s not enough to keep me busy, I’m currently working with my literary agent on my second book.
Life is about people, connections, and big ideas: please get in touch if any of this resonates with you.
